Central Christian University is a Christian institution which offers professional education on both the baccalaureate and graduate levels through in class and distance programs. It provides education that integrates biblical truth as revealed in the Holy Scriptures. CCU mission and purpose is to form professionals with outstanding educational capacities and knowledge in scripture to work in their desired area of study, while impacting governments and communities with the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Founded in 2003 by Council Missionary Church of God, Orlando, FL USA with the purpose to provide general and biblical training for those persons entering the Christian ministry, and through the years Central Christian University has continued this purpose of “ministry”, ever more broadly defined to include both the church and non-church vocations. Many of the students are affiliated with the Council Missionary Church of God; however, numerous students come from other denominations.
Enrollment consists primarily of undergraduate students. Over 60 percent of these students are adults in distance education programs and 40 percent traditional undergraduate students attend on campus.
Central Christian University serves the Church and society by offering graduate programs in various professions and academic disciplines. These post-baccalaureate programs are designed to deepen one's understanding of a discipline and/or strengthen one's skills as a professional. The goal of all graduate degree programs is to nurture scholars and professionals who will better serve the kingdom of God and the world. In this way, the graduate programs are a natural extension of the university's commitment to undergraduate education.
As an independent institution, Central Christian University is controlled by a Board of Trustees appointed by the General Executive Committee of the denomination. The President is responsible to this board for facilitating an educational program presented from a theological perspective that is evangelical. In Bylaws of Central Christian University (article IV, section 4.2), all trustees must acknowledge the core beliefs of the University.
At Central Christian University, we believe in helping our students gain a greater understanding of themselves and their world. We believe this gives them the freedom to define themselves not only by what they do, but by who they are. We believe that inspiring them and quipping them to use their God-given gifts to the best of their abilities will transform this world for good.
We prepare our graduates for more than a vocation. We prepare them for life.
The faculty who mentor our students are distinguished men and women with years of real-world experience, advanced degrees from some of the world’s most respected schools, and a strong commitment to the Christian faith. Each member of our faculty is dedicated to mentorship and to helping students become leaders in their field. They combine academic excellence with robust Christian faith and are determined to help students do the same.
While most students come from the United States, the student body typically consists of representatives of a broad range of socioeconomic backgrounds from all fifty states and more than seventy countries in Central and South America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Because of this geographic span, the university serves a racially, ethnically and culturally diverse student body with eighty percent international or minority students. The institution has adopted the policy that no person in whatever relation with Central Christian University shall be subject to discrimination because of race, color, national origin, age, gender or disability.
Central Christian University affirms that unity of purpose among all its employees and students is essential to the fulfillment of its mission. The university further affirms that all men are created in the image of God and are, therefore, to be afforded equal opportunity in accordance with biblical standards.
Central Christian University administers these policies without regard to gender, color, or national or ethnic origin, recognizing that all mankind is one human race.
The universities vision was not just to grow in the U.S., but also provide high quality Christian education to third world countries or developing countries where formal Christian education is scarce, expensive or both.
CCU goal was, has been, and will always be to make available the knowledge and wisdom of God through excellent education for pastors, leaders and professionals to not only become more effective in ministry but also teach and train others in the grace and knowledge acquired in these studies. With currently 27 campuses worldwide, CCU continues to pioneer, committing to this God-given mandate of impacting this world with the message of good news of Jesus Christ, educating and changing mentalities.
Central Christian University’s journey has been one of facing giants, making the impossible possible, watching fervent prayer move mountains, and forming leaders for tomorrow.
