Electronic and Information Technology Accessibility Policy

1. Purpose

Central Christian University (CCU) is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible learning environment for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This policy ensures that electronic and information technology (EIT) resources are designed, developed, and maintained to meet the accessibility needs of individuals with disabilities in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all EIT resources owned, developed, or procured by CCU, including but not limited to:  
- Websites and web applications  
- Learning management systems  
- Multimedia content (videos, audio, etc.)  
- Software and hardware systems  
- Communication tools, such as email and messaging platforms  
- Digital documents and forms  

It also includes third-party services and resources utilized by the university.

3. Policy Statement

CCU will ensure that EIT resources:  
- Conform to accessibility standards, including Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA or its most current version.  
- Are usable by individuals with disabilities, including those who rely on assistive technologies.  
- Promote equal access to educational and administrative programs, services, and activities.  


4. Roles and Responsibilities

Accessibility Coordinator:  Oversees the implementation and enforcement of this policy, provides training, and serves as a resource for accessibility inquiries.  
IT Department:  Ensures EIT systems and software comply with accessibility standards during development or procurement.  
Faculty and Staff: Create accessible digital content, including course materials, documents, and communications.  
Vendors and Contractors: Must certify that their products meet CCU’s accessibility standards before procurement.  


5. Accessibility Procedures

Audits: Regular accessibility evaluations will be conducted to identify and address barriers.  
Training: Ongoing training will be provided to employees responsible for creating or managing EIT resources.  
Feedback Mechanism: Users can report accessibility issues via email to tech@ccu.education, and CCU will respond promptly to address concerns.  


6. Compliance and Enforcement

CCU will adhere to all relevant laws and regulations, including:  
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act
Non-compliance may result in disciplinary action or the immediate removal of non-conforming resources.
